Oshima Yuko wins 36th Japan Academy Awards Best Actor/Actress Award
It has been announced during Ninety-nine’s All Night Nippon radio broadcast that Oshima Yuko had won the Best Actor/Actress Award for the 36th Japan Academy Awards for her performance in ‘Yamikin Ushijima-kun’ . This award was won by Maeda Atsuko last year for her acting in ‘Moshidora’, and therefore Atsuko will be presenting the award to this year’s winner, Oshima Yuko. This will be the first time since Maeda’s graduation that the two have stood on stage as actresses.
For Yuko, who had said that she wanted to be an actress since her joining showbiz, commented ‘I am so happy to be awarded such a prestigious prize for my acting work, and I would like to thank all those who had voted’. Atsuko has also commented ‘It was our dream to stand on such a wonderful stage together as actresses, and I am very happy’ when being informed that Yuko had won the prize, said ‘Congratulations Yuko! I am looking forward to meeting her on stage’.
The award ceremony is on the 8th March.

AKB48: Team K Seishun Girls - Oshima Yuko
The Team K Seishun Girls are Sae Miyazawa, Sayaka Akimoto and Yuko Oshima. Three senior members of AKB48 who are highly respected and revered by the younger members. Each of them has a unique personality and qualities that make them exemplar Senpai to their Kohai. This is 1/3 of a three piece illustration.
Yuko Oshima is the current Center of AKB48. A confident professional yet outspoken and carefree in nature Yuko symbolizes a new idea of Japanese woman. Independent and ambitious, she leads AKB48 into a broadening future. I drew Yuko wearing a more revealing version of her HEAVY ROTATION costume. On a side note, Yuko is wielding a modified MK-48 light machine gun.
